Henri Rousseau was a self-taught French post-impressionist painter. He also never travelled anywhere in his life, so this guy must have had a vivid imagination if you have a look at the tropical and exotic paintings he painted. How amazing is that? He imagined these scenes from stories he heard or articles he read and taught himself how to paint them. He only became a full-time artists late in his life and real recognition only came after his death. I like the 'primitive and naive' style of his paintings, as they were described by critics. His tropical theme is very now and I thought one of his images could add some interest to a wall that needs decorating. So be inspired by this self-taught artist and pick up a brush!
