Panthera Leo
Panthera Leo
This stunning picture of a male lion showing off its impressive mane was taken in Etosha National Park in Namibia, by Johan van der Merwe.
The lion is the undisputed king of the jungle, and you would certainly agree if you are ever lucky enough to get up close and personal with a lion in the wild. Lions hunt and roar mostly at night, and can be very lethargic during the day. Another interesting fact is that a lion's tongue is exceptionally rough, able to separate meat from bone by just licking it.
Enjoy painting this beautiful 30 x 40cm portrait with its 18 colours. It is not too complicated, but have enough smaller areas to keep it interesting. Each box contains a stretched, printed and numbered canvas, paint, brushes and a page detailing the numbers for an extra reference.
