This painting was painted by Gustav Klimt during his 'Golden Period' in the early 1900's this painting was bought by the Belvedere Museum in Austria even before he finished it, even though there was a bit of a public outcry about the painting. The painting still hang on the walls of this Austrian museum.
He was an Austrian painter who was a major figure in the Art Nouveau movement of the time. He has a very characteristic style mostly influenced by Japanese art and methods.
